While similar in appearance to polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) stands out with its greater transparency and lighter weight. A flammable material, PP is known for its exceptionally low water absorption and breathability. Its superior mechanical properties, including excellent tensile and yield strength, surpass those of PE, PS, and ABS. Notably resistant to stress cracking and easy to weld, PP has a lower notch impact strength, suggesting that finished products should avoid sharp corners and notches. The operating temperature range for PP is between +5 °C and 50 °C.
